Our latest work, now on bioRxiv, shows that people can detect even the tiniest eye movements—microsaccades—when these movements are preceded by an intention. Using a novel paradigm, we dissociate intention from sensory consequences and find that awareness of these minuscule actions hinges on intention itself.
