Press release: New paper out in Nature Communications!

We had previously announced our excitement that Martin’s preprint ‘Lawful kinematics link eye movements to the limits of high-speed perception‘ had finally been published after 7+ years.

Another 1.5 years later, the final paper (with additional data and modeling) has now been published in Nature Communications! You find it here.

Much like chipmunks dart around in rapid bursts, our eyes swiftly dart from one place to the next. These eye movements create high-speed motion that increases with the distance they cover. The new study shows that the speed of eye movements predicts the speed limit of perception.
