Open postdoc position in SCIoI project

We have an opening for a postdoc to work in a project called “Probing properties of recursive, hierarchical information processing in visual systems”, which is an exciting collaboration with the Robotics and Biology Laboratory (PI: Oliver Brock) and part of the larger research cluster Science of Intelligence (short: SCIoI).

The official announcement at the website of Humboldt-Universität can be found here (English) or hier (German). The position is for 3 years.

A brief description of the overall project can be found at SCIoI’s website. The robotic side of the project has already started, and we are looking to fill the second position in visual psychophysics.

Our labs at SCIoI are well equipped with a range of high-end eye trackers, motion trackers, several high-speed stimulus projection systems (running at 1440 Hz), a state-of-the-art EEG system, etc.

We are looking for highly motivated candidates that hold a PhD in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields, have a strong background in vision science, in particular visual psychophysics (evident, e.g., through relevant thesis topics, publications, or experience in visual psychophysics, eye and motion tracking), and are excited to collaborate with researchers in robotics. Experience with Matlab or Python for experimental control and Matlab, Python, or R for data analysis is required. Excellent English writing skills are a strong advantage. Note that knowledge of German is explicitly not required for this position.
