New paper in Annual Review of Vision Science: Predictive foveal processing in active vision

Our paper Predictive foveal processing in active vision is out in the 12th volume of Annual Review of Vision Science!

In this review, we walk through psychophysics and neuroimaging studies showing that before the eyes even move, foveal vision is shaped by predictions of what information will arrive there in the next fixation. We lay out a simple mechanism for this and suggest it ties together several previously separate phenomena.
